401 Trail Day a Great Success

Saturday, February 28th, 2009

Today was a Trail 401 Work Day.We had about 20 friends, including 4 Open Space Rangers. We had a wonderful group attend. We worked on the trail, making drainage areas and berms to divert rain water and prevent future damage to the trail, painted the picnic table, and painted over graffiti on other tables, and replanted cactus. The rangers from Open Space were wonderful. The weather was really wonderful and sunny and the perfect temperature.

Then we all came back to our house for bagels , enchiladas and goodies. The house was filled with flowers and music.

My brother flew in from California again and was a great asset with his humor and friendship. He is a good frieind to our Foundation community.

I wanted to thank all of you that attended .It meant so much to us and was a really wonderful day.

She would be very proud of this active and energetic day and how we chose to honor her.

Friday, February 13th, 2009

We are so happy to announce that we are establishing an Emily Sandall Memorial Fund for the Sankhu-Palubari School in Nepal through Advocates for Human Rights(formerly Minnesota Advocates).Emily’s Memorial Fund has been established as a long term fund to allow as many children as possible to attend the school and to avoid child labor.
They will be putting stories and pictures about Emily on their web-site.She would love this so much and had worked so hard to fund-raise for the school. She started a club at the University Of Montana called Children’s Second Chance to educate about child labor and to fund-raise for the school.
