Foundation supports scholarships in Guatemala

Emily’s Foundation is very pleased to continue to support scholarships through Garden’s Edge in Guatemala. In addition to supporting students in their academic education the students had workshops in communication skills, baking, healthy recipe prep, agroecology and use of medicinal plants.

One recent scholarship recipient obtained a diploma in nursing. Two others are studying community development and business administration.

From a current scholar: I’ve had a scholarship for 5 years. My parents are farmers. My mother was not able to go to school because her mother became a widow during the civil war. She is very happy that I have this opportunity.
