In the fire of pain and grief as we sifted through the news of Emily’s death we confronted the task of keeping her memory as alive in our hearts as she was in life. We decided to set up this foundation in Emily’s name to carry on her educational work with street children in Nepal and Mexico and disadvantaged youth in the United States.
The Emily Sandall Foundation was officially incorporated in the state of New Mexico on November 13, 2006. We are applying for non profit status so that donations will be tax deductible.
All donations will go 100% to help disadvantaged youth. Any organizing costs and fundraising and administrative costs will be covered by the Sandall family.
In the midst of tragedy comes opportunity. Emily was a positive influence on all of us and it is our hope that she continues to be so. It is our hope that we can all benefit from this community of Emily’s friends and family, and that we can bear her loss in a hopeful manner.
